Start day with a healthy breakfast. A big, healthy breakfast is what fuels your energy for the rest of the day and gets your metabolism pumping. Lot of hotels include breakfast buffets as complimentary service, so dig in!
Eat yoghurt daily
Apart from being filling, yogurt is what helps keep your stomach happy by regulating your digestive system and prevents you from having diarrhea or bloating.
Stay hydrated
Drinking plenty of water will keep you full, hydrated, and away from drinking bad things like soda. So always carry a bottle of water with you.
Use the stairs
Taking the stairs is a good cardio workout, and that it’s better than taking the elevator.
Don’t skip green tea while you are away
Tea gives you energy to do fun activities, along with antioxidants to protect against damage from pollution, while regulating bowel movements. So, keep tea bags stocked.
Chew on granola or protein bar between meals
Keep hunger pangs at bay and your metabolism pumping by having a granola bar or protein bar in the morning and in between meals.
Know what exactly goes in a dish
Something that looks good and healthy, may not always be healthy. If you aren’t sure, ask, or do your research on the local cuisine, before you travel somewhere.
Walk instead of taking a cab
Walk and burn some calories, unless you have a time crunch, it’s late at night, you have a physical condition, or you’re in an unsafe neighborhood.
Join a local gym
Taking a local exercise class is by far the easiest way to stay fit while travelling and experiencing local culture. For e.g., you can try Yoga in India, or cross-country skiing in Norway. Keeping in touch with work out routines is a perfect solution for staying fit while travelling.
Workout with YouTube videos and fitness apps
YouTube workouts and fitness apps are ideal for staying fit while travelling. You can pack in a short, very effective workout whenever you want. There are plenty of workout routines available online for those who are on the move. All you need is an internet connection and a smartphone.
Eat frequent meals
Next to choosing the right food, eating more often can also help you stay fit. Munch on at least two healthy snacks throughout the day. That will keep your metabolism going, so you will burn more energy. Also, it prevents you from becoming too hungry when you cannot search for a good place to eat.
Pack workout equipment
Carry a jump rope, a resistance band, and a polar heart rate monitor. They take up less room than a hair dryer and are the most time efficient travel workout tools.
Use a hotel gym
Plan ahead and pick a hotel that has a fitness center where you can actually workout. Fit in a quick 20 minute workout with treadmill, jump rope, resistant bands and heart rate monitor.Bon voyage!
