It is common to feel anxious occasionally when we encounter trying situations in our day to day life. For eg: A student is anxious just before appearing for his exams or getting before getting his exam results. An employee feels anxious just before his appraisal report or while having to conduct a presentation in front of the CEO.
Anxiety becomes a cause of concern when the frequency increases as in when the individual starts to feel anxious about mundane occurings. Most often anxiety disorders involve recurrent episodes of sudden feelings of intense emotions be it fear, terror, panic, anger etc that peak within minutes and takes a long time to subside. These intense feelings interfere with the normal functional activities like achieving a task, showering, etc. It becomes difficult for the individual to carry on normal functions. Anxiety disorders include phobias, separation anxiety disorders, social anxiety disorder etc.

When we do not starve our brain is active and we feel active which in turn does not cause intense emotions leading to anxiety.

Talk your way out of anxiety: Anxiety primarily is a disorder of the mental state. It cannot be fought alone by oneself. Seek external help, be it your psychologist, your psychiatrist , your best friend or your partner. Talk about your emotions and feelings to them. Express your worries and concerns. Seek advice from them. Seek reassurance from an external entity when you feel down. It will help you regain your composure.
