Scientists believe that our unusual diet is the predominant cause of stress. The frequent tea and snack breaks we take is the culprit. We can prevent our diet from increasing stress levels by including healthy foods that curb stress. 

1. Green Tea
Apart from caffeine, green tea also contains theanine, which is an amino acid that is known to reduce stress. Drinking two cups of green tea every day is an excellent brain booster and enhances mental performance. It also provides additional protection from some types of cancer.

2. Dark Chocolate
Eating dark chocolate, in moderation, every day has shown to reduce stress. It is being referred to as the new anti-anxiety drug. A new study found that depressed people who ate dark chocolate for a couple of weeks had lower levels of stress hormones.

3. Milk
Vitamin D deficiency has been linked to an increased risk of stress, panic attacks, and depression. Milk is an excellent source of vitamin D, and only a few other natural foods found in nature contain this vitamin. Drinking a cup of milk helps boost happiness.

4. Fish
Fatty fish, such as salmon, tuna, and mackerel, are the best sources of omega-3 fatty acids. They are also rich in vitamin B6 and B12. Vitamin B12 plays a vital role in the synthesis of serotonin, a key chemical in the brain that stabilizes our mood and keeps us happy.

5. Cashew Nuts
Low levels of zinc have been associated with anxiety and depression. Our body cannot store zinc, which makes it all the more important to include zinc in our diet every day. A few cashew nuts every day is a good source of this mineral.

6. Fruits
All fruits, especially citrus fruits, have natural sugar that helps de-stress your mind. It has other minerals and vitamins that are not only healthy for your body but also your mind.
